Production — crafting, timing, collection

Production is the second half of the economy. After you've built a building, raw resources start turning into something more valuable. Here you'll find out: what can be crafted?, how long does it take? and how do I pick up the result?

What is production

Production buildings sit on your captured hexes and transform one resource into another. The basic pattern is always the same:

  • Raw input — wood, ore, wheat, water, energy.
  • Product — boards, steel, flour, bread, beer, steel plates, beds, etc.

Production chains

The idea repeats from building to building: raw → semi-finished → finished product:

Timber → furniture
  • Sawmill. 2 wood (24 h) → 4 boards.
  • Workshop. 2 steel + 5 boards (24 h) → 1 barrel; 2 copper plates → 2 copper wire; 2 steel + 6 boards (3 d) → 1 bed.
Grain → bakery
  • Mill. 2 wheat (2 h) → 1 flour.
  • Bakery. 3 water + 2 flour (3 h) → 3 bread.
Hops → drinks
  • Brewery. 3 water + 1 hop (12 h) → 1 beer.

How long does it take

Every production building has a production speed and a storage cap.

  • Production takes anywhere from a few minutes to several days.
  • If storage runs out, production stops.
  • Upgrade the building — and both numbers grow: more output per day and a bigger storage tank.

How to collect

Open the hex and press the Collect button.

How to upgrade

In the same menu press Upgrade. Higher level — more production speed and more capacity.

Workers

You can assign slaves or engineers to the building. Slaves work slowly and inefficiently; engineers — the opposite. More engineers — faster product accumulation. Exact settings live in the building's own menu.
